Social economics - demographic modelling and mapping

Assessment of the economic and socio-economic impacts of major projects and government policies is a core capability of ACIL Tasman. ACIL Tasman has conducted numerous economic and social impact assessments relating to mining and petroleum development, airports recreation facilities and other infrastructure. We also conduct region-wide economic assessments of growth scenarios, economic opportunities, and business and workforce capacity. As part of impact assessments, we propose management measures needed to maximise benefits and minimise costs. For our impact assessments, we utilise Tasman Global, ACIL Tasman’s sophisticated in-house computable general equilibrium model, plus other economic tools such as demographic and workforce models.

ACIL Tasman’s impact assessments have covered projects in all States and Territories in Australia, as well as countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
