Ms Ironfield is a Senior Associate of ACIL Tasman. Ms Ironfield has provided policy advice to business and government for over 20 years. Prior to joining Tasman in 1997, she held senior positions in the Industry Commission (now the Productivity Commission) and Bureau of Industry Economics. She has an honours degree in Economics.

Ms Ironfield has considerable expertise in undertaking economic research and providing policy advice to a wide range of clients. Her extensive experience includes analysis of regulation, industry policy, taxation policy, micro-economic reform and competition policy. Ms Ironfield has a strong and diverse background in qualitative and quantitative microeconomic analysis, using a range of techniques including input-output multipliers, surveys and case studies. She has particular expertise in designing and conducting surveys and analysing and interpreting statistics. She uses research and interviewing techniques to undertake case studies and evaluations on a wide range of issues. For example, as part of a case study on the construction of the Minehunter Coastal Ships project Ms Ironfield surveyed participating companies and undertook interviews with a selection of respondents to better understand how the participation in the project had impacted at the firm.
