Dr Yuan Chou

Senior Consultant

Yuan Chou is a Senior Consultant at ACIL Tasman’s Melbourne office. He holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University and an honours degree in Economics from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, USA.


Yuan joined ACIL Tasman recently with several years of consulting experience at Access Economics in Canberra and the Centre for International Economics (CIE) in Sydney, where he has undertaken public policy and strategic analysis, program evaluations, general equilibrium and econometric modeling, as well as economic, social and environmental impact analysis. Yuan has worked on projects involving a diverse range of industries and sectors, including aviation, education, health, retail, media, telecommunications, the arts, tourism, agriculture, mining, natural resources, digital content and electronic payments.


Prior to his career in economic consulting, Yuan was an academic at the University of Melbourne where he lectured undergraduate, Masters and PhD students in macroeconomics. His research, published in various refereed international journals, focused on the determinants of economic growth and development, including financial innovation and social capital accumulation.
