Regional Analysis, Economic
and GIS Modelling
ACIL Tasman provides
analysis and advice to private and
government clients concerned with policy
and economic activity in regional areas
of Australia. ACIL Tasman combines many
years of economic consulting in a
diverse range of sectors with unique
skills in geographic information systems
(GIS) to provide our clients with
analysis and advice specific to
individual regions of Australia. The use
of GIS allows for a range of spatial
analysis, manipulation and extraction
techniques that are not possible when
data is held in tabular form.
ACIL Tasman has
combined GIS capabilities with our
in–house economic models, including our
general equilibrium model Tasman Global,
to assess the overall impact of changes
in economic activity and/or productivity
in regional economies. We have also
utilised GIS to provide spatial analysis
of our in-house electricity and gas
market models, PowerMark and GasMark.
We have applied our
knowledge of regional areas and
expertise in spatial modeling to a range
on assignments, including:
•
Planning, management, and
delivery of government services
•
Transport and regional
planning
•
Market analysis/ provision
of information for business
•
