ACIL Tasman Pty Ltd is an Australian
based firm of economic and public policy consultants
formed in 2002 by the merger of Tasman Economics
and ACIL Tasman. The component firms – which include
London Economics Australia and Tasman Asia Pacific
– both have two decades of Australian and international
experience in business advice, infrastructure,
regulation,
and development and policy initiatives.
We specialise in the analysis of markets,
their competitive dynamics and their regulation.
We have undertaken considerable work in minerals
and energy resources; agriculture,
fisheries and forestry; tourism
and hotels; building and construction; and health
and education.
ACIL Tasman has been active in leading
restructure, reform and business advisory roles
in Australia and most key countries in the Asia-Pacific
region, including China,
Malaysia,
the Philippines, Indonesia,
India, PNG,
Fiji, Korea
and Samoa. Our expertise in economic modelling makes
us particularly well suited to analyse the institutional
arrangements and regulation that govern infrastructure
in our region – including energy, gas,
electricity,
water,
transport
and communications.
Having been involved in many of the
privatisations of infrastructure and other government
services over the past decade, we also have expertise
and understanding of the interaction between the
public and the private sectors in service provision
– including financial sector reform, competition
policy and public-private sector partnerships. Financial
markets governance and
risk management are growing areas of interest.
As a firm, our strength lies in our
team. Many of our staff have previously worked for
highly respected companies and research and advisory
agencies such as the Productivity Commission, the
Bureau of Industry Economics, Departments of Prime
Minister and Cabinet, Defence, Treasury, and international
organisations such as the IMF, World Bank, the International
Energy Agency and the OECD.
Our team uses its extensive experience
together with strong analytical foundations and
frameworks to deliver focused outcomes and solutions
for clients.
