About ACIL Tasman
ACIL Tasman Pty Ltd is a leading
provider of economic, public policy and strategic
advice, formed in 2002 by the merger of Tasman Economics
and ACIL Consulting.
A component firm, London Economics
Australia, has the experience of providing advice
in Australia and internationally on infrastructure,
regulation,
business strategy, development and policy initiatives.
Our expertise extends across many
disciplines in government and industry, where we
have a reputation for providing credible analyses
and innovative solutions for our clients. ACIL Tasman
has been particularly active in leading restructuring
and reform processes and in performing business
advisory roles. This work spans Australia, New
Zealand and most key countries in the Asia-Pacific
region, including China,
Malaysia,
the Philippines, Indonesia,
India, PNG,
Fiji, Korea
and Samoa. Our expertise in economic analysis and
modelling makes us particularly well suited to analyse
the institutional arrangements and regulation that
govern infrastructure in our region – including
electricity,
gas,
water,
transport
and communications.
For private sector clients, we specialise
in the analysis of markets, their competitive dynamics
and their regulation. In addition to many assignments
related to infrastructure,
we have undertaken considerable work in mining
and minerals,
agriculture, fisheries and forestry, health
and social policy.
Our strength lies in our team. Many
of the ACIL Tasman
Board and personnel have previously worked for
respected research and advisory agencies such as
the Productivity Commission, the Bureau of Industry
Economics, Departments of Prime Minister and Cabinet,
Defence, Treasury, and international organisations
such as the IMF, World Bank, the International Energy
Agency and the OECD.
The team are familiar with the analysis
which must be undertaken to support well-founded,
bankable decisions. They have the proven ability
to:
• conduct rigorous economic and policy
analysis, and
• present cogent advice to clients and target audiences.
A team approach is adopted on larger
projects to ensure assignments are addressed from
appropriate perspectives and disciplines. Depending
on particular needs ACIL Tasman may engage subcontractors
or work with co-venturers with specific subject
matter knowledge or complementary skills.
