Bob Smillie has more than 30 years experience of working with local governments in three States. Prior to establishing his consulting practice, Bob Smillie & Associates, he spent eight years until July 1998 as the Chief Executive Officer of the Town of Kwinana working with the Mayor, Councillors and staff to bring about one of the most dynamic periods of change the organisation has experienced. During his career with local government Bob has acquired considerable skill in the areas of quality management, best practice, major project management, change management and team development.

• Local government and indigenous governance specialist with in-depth experience in remote communities.

• Had a successful tenure as acting CEO of the Wirrimanu Aboriginal Corporation and implemented community based consultative processes following his appointment as the interim administrator for ORAC.

• Was the Project Manager for 2007 for the Halls Creek Project, a whole-of-government project encompassing all of the Shire of Halls Creek including the Tjurabalan COAG Trial site.
