Richard
Begley specialises in the economics
of resources and sustainability. He
has extensive experience consulting
to industry and governments, with
an emphasis on developing and assessing
policies and managing modelling and
other quantitative analysis.
Richard
has worked extensively in the area
of greenhouse and sustainable energy.
Recent major greenhouse analyses include
managing the evaluation of the economic
impacts of a National Emissions Trading
Scheme for the National Emissions
Trading Taskforce. In addition, Richard
was a member of the Western Australian
Government’s Greenhouse and Energy
Taskforce, which reported in February
2006.
Richard
also has undertaken a range of economic
impact assessments of major resource
and infrastructure projects in Western
Australia, including water infrastructure.
A number of these evaluations utilised
general equilibrium economic modelling.
Richard
also has expertise in trade and industry
policy. He has a particular interest
in innovation policy.
